  1. Hi, I have a 1976 Aries 32. Traditional attachment of 1/2 inch plywood deck to a fiberglass hull. Plywood is exposed underneath and sits on a framework fiberglass over top the ply. The deck needs replaced. Would it be possible to lay 1/4 marine ply on the framework then bond 3/8 balsa to that plywood ( what is the best way to bond; vacuum bag or gravity weight like bricks, etc. the balsa. Does 1/4 ply have enough strength to support the gravity weight without making depressions ) then fiberglass over the balsa? Or would it be best to stick with 1/2 inch marine ply and glass, like the original, as a replacement? I do realize there will be some difference in height with the balsa but that can be easily addressed.
