I have a small section of rub rail that is pulling away from the other segments. I have some TotalBoat 5:1 epoxy and I can thicken it to glue it back together, but was wondering if Thixo wood would be better. Any opinions on which product would work better? Thanks.
I needed to remove a portion of the vinyl rub rail insert to access the screws underneath. The portion I removed was very stiff and I'm having some doubts as to weather I'll be able to reinstall it or how to go about it. Jamestown sells a insert that is very similar to it if not an exact copy (V12-0303) of the style I removed. Can the original section be softened or made more pliable, and what is the best way to install it or totally new insert.
I am adding a rub rail to my 1973 Pearson 36-1. I have the teak and now I am searching for 70 feet of 1/2-3/4" bronze half round or half oval to protect the teak rub rail. My order is too small to get responses from any manufacturers and I can't find any retail suppliers. Any suggestions. No I don't care to use brass or stainless steel. Thanks, George DuBose
