Pettit SeaGold for ply lapstrake interior

3 posts in this topic

I'm restoring a 1960 16' lapstrake outboard runabout.  The interior hull and ribs do not have any flaking - I'm thinking to prep using Scotchbrite fine pads and then soap/water wash.  SeaGold is a new product - does anybody have any experience with it?  My plan is to use it for the interior finish down to the water line (not in the bilge).  Is it compatible with CPES?.  I'm thinking I would apply one coat of CPES as a sealer prior to SeaGold application.  My other product choice is Cetol.  Does anybody know how they differ?

SEAGOLD is a water based satin polyurethane finish similar to cetol.  It should work well over CPES, but let the CPES cure before applying.
