How to disconnect steering cable?

2 posts in this topic

Hi folks,

I'm in the middle of a pontoon remodel and I'm trying to remove the console.  I have all the wires and cables disconnected with the exception of the steering.  I can't seem to find a name or a brand on this thing to be able to search the web about it.   I've attached a couple of photos below.  In one, you can see on the left where I removed a bolt that I figured would release the cable, but, no go... anyone have any ideas?  Any info would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!

Not sure what make that is, doesn't look like a Teleflex steering helm.  Try Turning the wheel clockwise to see if the cable backs out.
