S/S Acorn (Cap) Nuts : what does fine mean ?

Threads on bolts/screws and nuts come in to types, course and fine. Bolts and nuts will list the (diameter or size) (by) (number of threads per inch of bolt). An example is #8 - 32. The size is #8 screw and the number of threads per inch is 32. This is fine threads. An #8 - 24 has course threads.

fine is more threads per inch for finer adjustment

Coarse is fewer threads per inch and would offer coarser adjustments
